AP Scholars – Students have achieved recognition for their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams. AP Scholars are students who completed three or more AP exams with scores 3, 4 or 5
AP Scholars with Distinction are students earning an average score of at least 3.5 on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
AP Scholars with Honors are students earning an average score of at least 3.25 on a five-point scale on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
The Calvert Mentorship program allows students to gain real-world experience in their chosen career field while earning one elective credit. The goal of the program is to give students the opportunity to; explore a possible career, develop skills, gain valuable career-related experiences, as well as build potential relationships with professionals in their chosen career path.

Department awards are awarded to students in each department for their high academic achievement in class.
Graduates with Distinction – Students meeting a high stand of academic achievement and earning a weighted cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or above are recognized as “Graduates with Distinction”.
Maryland Merit Scholastic Award is given to the top five percent of the senior class and is endorsed by Governor Hogan.
The Maryland Seal of Biliteracy is an award from the Maryland State Board of Education that recognized a student’s high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in English and one or more additional languages, as measured by rigorous, state-approved proficiency assessments.
Meritorious Service Star Award given to students for their exemplary service to their communities and dedication to applying academic skills through service-learning projects to solving real community problems.
National AP Scholar - Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
National Merit Commended Students – Over 1.5 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools entered the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program on the 2018 PSAT. Only about 34,000 students are commended students recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scores of those taking the PSAT.
Perfect Attendance is awarded to students who have not missed any days of school.
The President’s Award for Outstanding Educational Achievement recognizes students who show outstanding educational growth, improvements and commitment or intellectual development in their academic subjects.
The President’s Award for Outstanding Educational Excellence recognizes academic success in the classroom. Students receiving the President’s Educational Excellence Award must have a score on a standardized aptitude test which places them in the 85th percentile and a cumulative grade point average of 90% or higher.
Senior Superlative Awards are given by teachers to students who have shown outstanding achievement, well rounded participation and cumulative success in the subject area over a four-year period. Our most prestigious and honored awards go to the following seniors.
Superintendent’s Scholastic Recognition Award is given to students who earn a grade no lower than a 90% for each course in each marking period for the school year. Eight students (*) earned the Superintendent’s Scholastic Recognition for all four years.
The United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award is given to a student with a grade point average of 85% or above, be recognized as an exemplary young citizen and role model for younger students, and recognized as having best exhibited academic achievement and leadership as a high school scholar.
United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award is given to a student capable of performing as a soloist with the high school band; and is recognized as both an outstanding performer and as a truly outstanding young citizen.
