 Mission Statement

The mission of the Patuxent High School Library is to be an integral part of the instructional program at Patuxent High School, dedicated to providing our school community with the best possible resources and services. Our vision is to promote active learning by assisting students and teachers in accessing, evaluating and utilizing information. 

Meet Your Librarian

Meet Your School Librarian...

Mrs. Khristi Jenkins has been the School Librarian at Patuxent High School for 19 years. She is responsible for collection development, library budget, professional development for the use of media and technology, teaching research and technology skills, research/curriculum development, and maintaining the library webpage and Twitter account. She is one of the school's contacts for Office 365 and Schoology assistance. She is a member of the School Improvement Team (SIT), PBIS Team (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), Equity Team and Mentorship Committees. She also serves as sponsor of Girls Place at the Table, a leadership group for minority females that seeks to break negative stereotypes and prepare young ladies for roles of leadership. She is also a certified Common Sense educator.

Mrs. Jenkins received her Bachelor's Degree in English (Secondary Education) from North Carolina Central University.  She also attended NCCU for her Master of Library Science Degree (MLS).  She can be reached via email: jenkinsk@calvertnet.k12.md.us.
