Huntingtown High School Library: Library Policies

Regular Checkout Policies

Most books, eBooks, and audiobooks can be checked out for two weeks. There are no overdue fines. 

• Reference - Reference materials circulate overnight; return them before first period on the day that they are due.
• Reserved books - Books placed on a reserved cart will be used in the library for a specific teacher's class or project.
• Periodicals - Current issues circulate for 2 weeks, and back issues are free to take. Digital magazines are available through the Sora reading app.

Sign-in & Passes

You are expected to come to the Media Center with your teacher or with a pass from class. When visiting the Media Center during lunch, after school, or with a pass; you must sign in at the circulation desk and sign out before leaving. You may scan the QR codes posted in the library to sign in electronically.

Copies
You may make a copy for $.10 per page. 

Printing
You may print in black and white for $.10/page, and color is $.25/page.  Therefore, you need to know the length of your print job. (Click on File... Print Preview.) Don't have change?  Redeem your CANE Cash (1 per page) for printing and copies, too.


Equipment
Equipment may be checked out for class presentations by the teacher who assigned the project. Equipment includes headsets, microphones, LCD Projection Units, wireless presentation clickers, Digital Cameras, and Video Cameras/Flip Cameras. We also have a portable green screen available for student projects.

Computers
We have 30 computers, a digital scanner, high volume printer, and color printer available in the media center.
Teachers may sign up for their classes to use the library, makerspace, lab (30 computers) or seminar room (professional learning and collaboration space).

Internet Use
Internet use during class time should be for schoolwork only.
